JEAN PAUL KALA

Thanks to his attention to detail, his talent and his imagination, Jean Paul KALA manages to transform these metallic surfaces into veritable objects of contemporary art.

The refined works of Jean Paul Kala are a real tribute to the powerful and authentic character of his cradle: North Kivu, where he was born.

The budding artist is drawn to matter and mechanics, and his hands cannot remain inactive. As a teenager, he discovered welding and metal forming, a revelation that took possession of his being: he became a recognized expert in his field.

The European dream had been in his plans for years. In the 2000s, he decided to take the plunge and settle in Belgium where he perfected his technique among the best. He received the recognition of the most demanding colleagues and enthusiasts.

Probably also influenced by the ancestral art Imigongo, precursor of abstract art, in 2013 he launched his own brand of high-end furniture R&J which quickly became known to seekers of beauty and exclusivity.

Jean Paul Kala's creations are distinguished by organic, elegant and generous curves - no doubt the fruit of his African roots.

Through technical mastery, combined with extreme attention to detail, Kala transforms metal into masterful contemporary works of art.
